Syria launches first official print newspaper since Assad fall

The Syrian newspaper Al-Thawra resumed publishing its print edition on December 1, marking the return of print journalism to the country for the first time in more than five years. [Getty]

Syria published the first print issue of the official Al Thawra Al Souriya newspaper Monday, the latest government-owned media outlet to launch since the fall of longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad.
